Watercolor/Acrylic FUN

Watercolor/Acrylic FUN

I have been teaching art for the past 13 years and know that almost everyone I meet wants to learn how to paint.  There is usually a reason, or excuse as to why they can’t DO IT NOW.  So, I am now offering online lessons.  I hav been experimenting with online lessons now for 3 years, and am still working to make it better, but I think the personal approach helps.  I give students a lesson or subject to work on.  They work on it, and upload their work to me.  I make suggestions, they upload again.  I think my online students might be the MOST motivated!  You can check me out at etsy.com/shop/JillyWillyArt, or jill-morris.artistswebsites.com.

Finally, start taking art lessons….beginners to advanced. Jilly Willy will help motivate you to reach your art goals. Jilly paints for the creative process while she helps students learn the elements and principals of design….but never losing sight of the REASON to paint…to be in the NOW, fully present and relaxed. You can do it! Painting is a learned skill…then comes expression with your skills.

Hi Art friends! The internet is bringing me new art students everyday. I use to not know anything about the internet. After years of learning, it now brings me face to face with new people who are traveling the art path. I Love finding new sites. I just discovered thumbtack.com and have listed my art services there. Hopefully, you will see my listing, and come visit me!

In my art workshops, I like to focus on the FUN, relaxing process of creating. I think without my art I would drive my kids CRAzy, and I might even be alcoholic! Yes, painting does help me here on earth. I love telling a story with the picture plane. Sometimes, I am sad, but most often times, my story is a happy one. Right now, after just visiting the Bahamas, I love painting the Caribbean theme. Check out my art services on Thumbtack.com

I am working on several sites and the way I determine if I like a site is by the visuals.  Some of us learn by seeing, others by reading.  I learn by seeing so the more pictures the better!  This is a test to see if this slideshow posts.  If some of my posts don’t make sense, please know I am in the learning phase and need to SEE it so I have to post it even if it looks stupid until I can figure it out!

Learning How to Paint. Tip: VIEW other artists artwork!

I learn more about artwork, when I VIEW others artwork. I wish some teacher had shared this tidbit with me years ago. I NEVER copy anothers work, but I do get ideas about composition, style, techniques. The masters learned from others, so we should take a tip from them. I repeat, don’t copy, just view it and give it a critique. Think about the elements of design: Crazy Victor Saw Sally Run Last Tuesday. Acronym for color, value, size, shape, rhythm, line, texturetrees paintings. Check out these pictures and LEARN!  Here are some more links you might like:   <a href=”http://fineartamerica.com/art/paintings/marine+art/all” style=”font: 10pt arial; text-decoration: underline;”>marine art paintings</a>

Painting en plein air is here!

Finally spring is almost here in Atlanta.  Starting in May, we will be painting on the Starry Night Houseboat!  We cant wait to get out of my dark basement and into the light.  Why are artists drawn to the light?  Because, it enlightens us!  We can see!
